Society for Translating Success in Academics into Excellence in Industry.
The Association for Computing Machinery at CSU Sacramento is proud to be considered a pivotal resource towards the academic and industrial success of its members and alumni.
ACM is the premiere Computer Science & Computer Engineering-based club on the CSU Sacramento campus. Representing our national chapter at the university level, we strive to demonstrate the values and ethics described by our predecessors throughout our academic careers and into our professional ones.
Founded in 1972, the ACM at CSU Sacramento is one of the oldest and largest societies on campus. This chapter focuses on fostering creativity via competition, maintaining academic excellence through support, and building networks through socialization. ACM acts as the bridge between our members, our college faculty, and our numerous partners within the industry.
Tech talks, hackathons, intercollegiate programming contests, company visits, company tours, and video/board game nights are just some of the types of events our members enjoy.
Veteran members have experience in planning course schedules based on workload and ability. Mock interviews, résumé reviews, and technical question workshops are offered prior to career fairs.
Tech talks, hackathons, intercollegiate programming contests, company visits, company tours, and video/board game nights are just some of the types of events our members enjoy. When non-members are invited, members are offered priority.
Veteran members often have experience in planning course schedules based on workload and ability. Mock interviews, résumé reviews, and technical question workshops are also offered prior to campus career fairs.
The College of Engineering & Computer Science generously supports our members by allowing our historic club to occupy an entire computer laboratory for study space, event space, social space, and other club purposes.
Through our extensive list of alumni and the generosity of local, national, and international companies and agencies, our club often invites guest speakers and recruiters to speak or present to our members directly.
Many professors are former chapter members and/or current members of the national arm of ACM. Showing that you are dedicated to scientific & academic pursuits is not often considered an unfavorable characteristic.
Above all else, ACM at CSUS is a society for geeks. Our members study the things that you study. They use the software that you use. They read the obscure blogs you read. They play the games that you play. College friends are friends that you keep.

Our chapter has partnered with the Center for Information Assurance and Security at CSU Sacramento to create a Special Interest Group for Cyber Security (SIGCS).
Due to the volatility of leadership positions in university clubs, we prefer you contact us through our shared e-mail address. Let us take care of the rest.
We are proud to partner with and/or host many amazing companies, organizations, and corporations! Some of their links are available below. After that, read opinions of our chapter from alumni, industry, and faculty!
